First Steps

I started my genealogy research in our little local Village library.

City, Village and County Libraries usually have regularly scheduled open hours and you can't beat the ambience of a quiet place.

You should probably head to your County Courthouse next. They are great fun. In small rural counties the Courthouse may be old and historic and that adds fun to your trip.

You should consider the local genealogical society next.
